Process
The interview process included a phone screen with a HackerRank coding test. This was followed by four out of five on-site interviews, concluding with a meeting with the recruiters. The questions covered topics such as concurrency, locking, semaphores, and blocking and non-blocking queues. I was selected for the position. Overall, it was a very positive experience.
Questions
Mostly, I discussed my previous internship project. Questions related to load-balancing and scheduling, and system design questions were asked.

Great engineering shop solving huge problems

Pros: Unlike some of the other good engineering shops, Uber gives you a chance to develop something from the ground up. Uber is still scaling its engineering team, tooling, processes, etc. So there is endless opportunity to pick up something, run with it, and make things easier for the next set of engineers.
Engineering culture is very merit-based. Very little gets in the way of you building something new.
The company is very open to change. It is pleasantly surprising how much I was able to change and influence as an engineer in my first few months.
Cons: If you come from another big company, you will miss the tooling, infra, etc., as it is still under development at Uber.

Pros: Leadership: Dara has a clear goal of how to drive the company.
Projects are still very challenging and interesting, regardless of the area you may be in.
Team: Regarding direct leaders, the experience I've had is great. The team and leaders let you do the best you can.
Cons: Reputation, unfortunately, the company/team has gone through some bad periods. Hopefully, we are over that.
