Pros: You get to work with very smart, fun folks! Lots of different brands and projects. Some really good managers. You get to work on a lot of high-profile sites. Lots of development groups that do a lot of interesting things.

Cons: Lack of trust in some senior managers. Limited to Turner-based brands. Not a lot of variety in developer career paths.

Pros: Turner gives 7% to your 401k for your 6% contribution. They give you $1,250 if you sign up for an HSA. You get annual Hawks tickets (~$250 worth) and discounted AMC/Regal tickets. They have a lenient "working-from-home" policy, and the annual bonus is outstanding. They pay you via direct deposit every two weeks, and it typically arrives very quickly.

Cons: There aren't really any cons, to be honest. The managers are fair, and employees are smart. The core hours are 10 AM to 4 PM, so as long as you arrive by 10 AM (and stay the full 9 hours) or don't leave earlier than 4 PM, you're good to go.

Pros: Well-funded, attractive, secure facilities. Strong emphasis on life/work balance. Reasonable benefits and compensation.

Cons: You will get very comfortable here regardless of your area of expertise. However, if you are technical, be prepared for some serious stagnation of skills, absence of desire to innovate, and a lack of negotiation for your initial placement. Without serious connections, it will be your long-term/permanent placement within the company. Turner talks the talk about advancing with trends – socially, strategically, and technically – but at the end of the day, there is neither the will nor the support to actually implement any substantial change. Sadly, Turner, like most past-looking entertainment and media companies, is watching the future race out of their grasp at an ever-accelerating pace.
