Software Engineer Interview Experience - Boston, Massachusetts

Process

The hiring process took approximately 3 weeks due to communication with the recruiter.

There was an initial phone call with the recruiter to see what my interests are.

There was a Coderpad remote interview, followed by an on-site.

The Coderpad consisted of string manipulation and also creating SQL queries.

The on-site was 5 hours with an hour break. There were 4 one-hour rounds, which are:

  • Behavioral
  • Coding - comparing strings
  • Database design - design a movie database
  • System design - design a URL shortener

The entire process was good, as I hadn't had any experience in system or database design, so I did learn a lot. Everyone was pretty helpful throughout the process.
