Pros: Remote-first is the obvious one; everyone at Zapier is remote, period. For SREs, anyway, a true follow-the-sun on-call. No more getting paged in the middle of the night. Most importantly, a company that truly cares about its employees. The best example of this is a recently launched initiative for people who want to leave. If you indicate interest in going somewhere else, they will provide you with mock interviews, contact people at other companies you're interested in, and support you. They owe you nothing at that point, but are willing to help you succeed no matter where you land.

Cons: I would personally prefer Kanban over Scrum, but that's team-dependent. It's a pretty minor con compared to the list of pros.

Pros: Staff culture is my biggest pro. There is a positive, compete-together attitude among nearly all employees, and some of the brightest minds to learn from. Highly technical leadership from top to bottom, as well as a tight product-market fit and a fundamental customer focus, means work is well-understood and meaningful.

Cons: It might not be for everyone. The pace of change is fast and increasing. But generally, the company looks after you for your impact. Growth is natural from working on hard and varied problems, and the work is rewarding.

Pros: This company is fully remote and has a great culture.

Cons: They offer no employment sponsorship of any kind. You have to be a Citizen or PR of the country you’re applying from.
