Description For Project Manager- Structural Engineer

Advanced Consulting Engineers (ACE-P.A.) is a Frederick, MD based structural engineering firm that is growing and seeking a candidate to fill a Structural Engineer - Project Manager role.

The successful candidate will work independently and lead teams on structural engineering projects, supporting the production of structural engineering construction documents and shop drawings for clients. All work is directly under the supervision of the firm's Principal Engineers. The role requires managing small and medium-sized projects and communicating with design team members and clients.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Performing calculations based on engineering principles and building code requirements
  • Utilizing engineering software packages in computer-aided design
  • Producing project documents/shop drawings for client submissions
  • Traveling to job sites for meetings and observations
  • Preparing formal written reports for clients
  • Interacting with clients during project design
  • Leading and mentoring younger engineers

Requirements:

  • B.S. in Civil Engineering (structural emphasis) or Architectural Engineering
  • EIT certification
  • Minimum of 4+ years career experience
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, REVIT, Ram Structural Systems, Microsoft Office
  • Experience with CFS, steel, concrete, masonry, and timber design
  • Familiarity with applicable codes (IBC, ASCE 7, ACI, AISC)
  • Strong communication and coordination skills
  • Self-motivation and attention to detail

Responsibilities For Project Manager- Structural Engineer

  • Perform calculations based on engineering principles and building code requirements
  • Utilize a variety of engineering software packages in computer aided design
  • Be responsible for the production of project documents/shop drawings for client submissions
  • Travel to job sites for meetings and observations of projects during construction as needed
  • Prepare formal written reports for clients summarizing on-site observations
  • Interact with clients on continual basis during the project design
  • Be able to lead and mentor younger engineers as part of a project team

Requirements For Project Manager- Structural Engineer

  • B.S. in Civil Engineering, structural emphasis or Architectural Engineering
  • EIT certification required
  • Minimum of +4 years career experience
  • Experience with computer applications and design software such as AutoCAD, REVIT, Ram Structural Systems, Microsoft Office
  • Experience with cfs, steel, concrete, masonry, and timber design preferred
  • Familiarity with applicable codes, such as IBC, ASCE 7, ACI, AISC
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and in a team environment
  • Must be flexible and adaptable to changing priorities
  • Self-motivation and ability to multi-task while maintaining a strong attention to detail
  • Ability to act with business integrity and professionalism
  • Applicant must be able to commute to our Frederick, MD office
