Description For Staff Partner Engineer

Affirm, a pioneering fintech company revolutionizing the credit industry, is seeking a Staff Partner Engineer to join their Merchant and Platform Engineering team. This role is crucial in expanding Affirm's presence, which currently covers half of all US ecommerce volume. As a Staff Partner Solutions Engineer, you'll be at the forefront of shaping the future of Buy Now Pay Later technology, working with major partners like Shopify and Stripe.

The position combines technical leadership with strategic partnership management, requiring both deep technical expertise and strong business acumen. You'll be responsible for providing technical guidance across Commercial and Product Partnership teams while supporting large cross-functional programs. This involves not just technical implementation but also driving business strategy and maintaining crucial partner relationships.

The ideal candidate will bring 6+ years of solutions engineering or similar experience, with a strong understanding of ecommerce and payment processing technologies. You'll need to be well-versed in modern web technologies, including REST APIs, webhooks, and various programming languages. The role demands excellent communication skills, as you'll be interfacing with both internal teams and external partners regularly.

Affirm offers a competitive compensation package, including a base salary range of $169,000 - $240,000 (varying by location), plus equity and comprehensive benefits. Responsibilities For Staff Partner Engineer

  • Provide day to day support for technical questions from external partner stakeholders
  • Lead development of project plans including solution designs and timeline forecasting
  • Develop integration support material and documentation
  • Collaborate with Product, Eng, and Revenue leadership on partnership roadmaps
  • Serve as SME and point of escalation for technical challenges
  • Maintain communication with external partners

Requirements For Staff Partner Engineer

  • Ability to read and understand multiple programming languages
  • Experience with long-term project planning and execution

  • Understanding of integrating UX elements with backend services and APIs
