Senior Web Software Engineer, Data Science Prototyping (12 month Contract)

Airbnb is seeking a Senior Web Software Engineer to join their Data Science team for a 12-month contract position. This role focuses on developing prototypes that demonstrate the potential of new data models addressing critical business and user problems. The position involves working at the intersection of ML/AI and user experience, creating sophisticated prototypes that help bridge the gap between complex models and practical applications.

The Data Science team at Airbnb collaborates closely with Design, Product, and Engineering teams across the company's portfolio. The role involves innovative work from ground up, applying advanced modeling techniques to solve critical Airbnb challenges. As a web prototyper, you'll work directly with Data Scientists to identify key questions and build software prototypes that provide answers.

Your work will be instrumental in enabling leadership to make strategic decisions by demonstrating technical feasibility, suggesting implementation approaches, and enabling user studies. The position requires expertise in front-end development, data visualization, and experience with TypeScript/JavaScript/React. You'll be creating prototypes that showcase industry-leading product enhancements and introduce advanced technologies.

This is a remote position within the United States, with occasional work at Airbnb offices or attendance at offsites as agreed with management.
