Application Engineer II

Amazon's Books team is seeking an Application Engineer II to drive innovation and improve customer experience through automation and application development. The role focuses on improving workflows and reducing manual workload within Books, Amazon Music & AWS operations.

As part of the Katalyst tech team, you'll be responsible for creating tools and applications including operational workflows, dashboards, data validation, comparison tools, scraping solutions, marketing automation, conversion tools, web apps, schedulers, and file handling systems. These solutions are aimed at reducing costs and improving quality and customer experience.

The ideal candidate will have strong development skills in object-oriented programming, particularly with Python or JavaScript, and experience with SQL databases and AWS. You'll work across multiple teams to resolve issues and continuously align your work with Amazon's business objectives.

Key responsibilities include:

• Developing production applications and services
• Improving workflows through automation
• Working with SQL databases for querying and analysis
• Deploying applications using CI/CD pipelines
• Contributing to AWS deployments using CDK or CloudFormation
