Application Engineer, Sapien

Amazon's Retail Business Services (RBS) is seeking an Application Engineer to join their team that supports Amazon's worldwide retail business growth. The role is centered around three core areas: Selection (sourcing and enriching ASINs), Defect Elimination (resolving supply chain issues), and operational process support for worldwide retail teams.

The position combines technical expertise with business impact, requiring someone who can work directly with business teams while maintaining and developing scalable solutions. You'll be part of a team that leverages Machine Learning and Deep Learning to automate complex tasks that typically require human cognitive skills.

As an Application Engineer, you'll be responsible for implementing and maintaining solutions, working closely with engineers on multiple products and services, creating process automation scripts, and handling monitoring and operational requests. The role requires strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions.

Key aspects of the role include:

• Working directly with business teams to understand and solve their support needs
• Developing and maintaining scalable solutions

• Providing on-call support for critical issues

• Implementing bug fixes
• On-boarding clients to the platform

The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of software development or technical support experience, strong Unix knowledge, and experience with modern programming languages. Knowledge of web services, distributed systems, and web application development is preferred.
