Description For Application Security Engineer, SDO AppSec EMEA

Amazon is seeking an Application Security Engineer to join their Security team in London, focusing on maintaining and enhancing security across Amazon's diverse product portfolio. This role sits at the intersection of security and software development, requiring both technical expertise and strong communication skills.

The position involves working closely with software development teams to ensure security is built into Amazon's services from the ground up. Day-to-day responsibilities include code inspection for security vulnerabilities, framework development for secure coding practices, and collaborative design work with development teams. The role requires a security generalist with deep expertise in specific areas, combining technical acumen with the ability to communicate effectively with various stakeholders.

As part of Amazon's security organization, you'll be responsible for maintaining high security standards across all Amazon products and services. You'll be creating and maintaining threat models, conducting secure code reviews in languages like Java, Python, and JavaScript, developing security automation tools, and providing security training to development teams.
