The Amazon Security Enablement for External Environments (SE3) team is seeking a Security Engineer to strengthen their security operations and tooling capabilities. This role focuses on ensuring Amazon Builders operate their third-party vendor software securely through building tools and performing security reviews. As a Security Engineer, you'll work with world-class engineers and senior leadership to influence security postures for acquired products and services.
The position requires a blend of technical expertise and collaborative skills, where you'll be responsible for identifying security risks, implementing remediation plans, and addressing complex security challenges at scale. You'll conduct security reviews, develop automated assessment tools, provide guidance documentation, and work closely with engineering teams across Amazon to prioritize and address security issues.

Responsibilities For Application Security Engineer, Security Enablement for External Environments
- Conduct security reviews of internal usage of third-party (3P) vendor software
- Develop and implement tooling to automatically assess secure configuration of third-party software
- Provide security guidance documentation
- Work with engineering teams to prioritize security issues
- Provide expert advice on risk assessment, incident triage, threat modeling, and security vulnerability mitigation
- Implement information security controls and patterns
- Collaborate with engineering teams to drive product roadmaps
- Lead internal process improvement projects
- Provide security training and outreach to internal development teams
Requirements For Application Security Engineer, Security Enablement for External Environments
- BS in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent work experience
- 3+ years of experience with threat modeling, secure coding, identity management, authentication, software development, cryptography, penetration testing, cloud security, mobile security, or network security
- Experience reading and writing in at least one programming language
