Description For Automation Engineer, Amazon Reliability Maintenance Engineering - IntlRME

Amazon Operations is at the core of Amazon's customer experience, managing everything from the moment a customer clicks buy to the final delivery. As an Automation Engineer in the Amazon Reliability Maintenance Engineering team, you'll be responsible for maintaining and optimizing technologies across Amazon's Global Warehouse & Delivery Network. The role focuses on fault-finding, troubleshooting, and improving controls solutions for automated material handling equipment including conveyors, sortation systems, scanners, cameras, print and apply systems, and control cabinets.

You'll serve as the site-level Subject Matter Expert for all controls systems and sensors, working hands-on to monitor, diagnose, and repair systems to ensure high equipment availability. Training technicians in control systems fault-finding will be a key responsibility to elevate site knowledge. You'll collaborate with the Global Controls network on continuous improvement projects and work alongside global teams for new equipment installation.

The position requires expertise in PLC controlled automation, experience with various software tools including SolidWorks and AutoCAD, and strong communication skills in both English and Spanish. You'll be working in a dynamic environment that requires flexibility and the ability to support multiple sites across the Mexico network.

Responsibilities For Automation Engineer, Amazon Reliability Maintenance Engineering - IntlRME

  • Be the site level Subject Matter Expert (SME) for all controls systems and sensors
  • Train technicians in control systems fault finding
  • Work with Global Controls network to monitor Material Handling Equipment metrics
  • Participate in continuous improvement projects
  • Work with Global Controls Engineering for system documentation
  • Support installation and commission of new equipment
  • Support other sites in the Mexico network
  • Interpret mechanical and electrical drawings

Requirements For Automation Engineer, Amazon Reliability Maintenance Engineering - IntlRME

Python
  • 2+ years of experience supporting conveyors and sortation systems
  • Experience with PLC controlled automation
  • Experience with Microsoft Office, SolidWorks, Ignition, Visio and AutoCAD
  • Fluent in English and Spanish (B2+)
  • Bachelors degree
  • Ability to work flexible schedule including weekends, nights, and holidays
