Description For Automation/Control Systems Engineer

Amazon Italia Transport Srl is seeking an experienced Automation/Control Systems Engineer to join their team in Passo Corese, Italy. This role is central to Amazon's operational excellence, focusing on automation and optimization of internal processes. As an Automation Engineer, you'll be responsible for ensuring automated systems operate at maximum efficiency to meet customer delivery commitments.

The position involves working with cutting-edge Amazon technologies and applying your expertise to solve complex productivity challenges. You'll monitor and optimize material handling equipment, analyze control systems and sensor data, and work to maximize equipment availability across facilities. Your role will be crucial in maintaining and improving the automated systems that power Amazon's logistics operations.

Key responsibilities include monitoring critical systems, collaborating with the European control network, providing data visualization for stakeholders, and participating in continuous improvement projects. You'll work with global teams to commission new equipment and ensure all systems are properly documented and maintained.   • Monitor main systems, identifying and resolving problems and critical issues
  • Collaborate with European control network to monitor material handling equipment metrics
  • Provide internal stakeholders with graphical representations of problem-solving data
  • Oversee or actively participate in continuous improvement projects
  • Collaborate with multiple departments to ensure proper system documentation
  • Work with global colleagues to install and commission new equipment
  • Interpret mechanical drawings and electrical systems
  • Ensure programming compliance with IEC 61131-3 standard

Requirements For Automation/Control Systems Engineer

  • High school diploma
  • Extensive experience with PLC-based control systems automation
  • Experience with conveyor belts and sorting systems
  • Experience in material handling, flow visualization, and monitoring
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and project management tools
  • Experience with Ladder Logic and programming structures
  • Knowledge of EthernetIP, Profinet, Profibus networks
  • Advanced knowledge of English and Italian languages
