Description For AWS Dedicated Cloud Engineer, Team Mercury

Would you like to implement innovative cloud computing solutions and solve the world's most complex technical problems? Do you have a deep passion and desire to engineer and operate the world's largest cloud computing infrastructure to build a better world for future generations? This is an exciting opportunity to use the latest cloud computing technologies to help U.S. Government agencies implement innovative cloud computing solutions and solve technical problems.

AWS established a specialized group of service teams responsible for the work we are doing with the U.S. Intelligence Community. We are building some of the largest and most complex distributed systems in the world, and we need adaptable people to help us implement and operate them.

As a member of the UC organization, you'll support the development and management of Compute, Database, Storage, Internet of Things (IoT), Platform, and Productivity Apps services in AWS, including support for customers who require specialized security solutions for their cloud services.

Key job responsibilities: Team Mercury is seeking highly motivated engineers who are focused on operational excellence and troubleshooting complex system operations, have a good understanding of Linux, networking and general knowledge of cloud services. We need engineers who understand how to think big, and simplify solutions to complex problems; all the while ensuring that our customers continue to have the best experience possible.

A day in the life: On a "typical" day, our engineers may dive deep to find the root cause of a customer issue, investigate why a metric is trending in the wrong direction, or discuss radical new approaches to automate operational processes.

About the team: Team Mercury supports AWS Commerce Platform and is responsible for several hundred production services and pipelines. Our team in Denver provides support for a subsect of these services that have far-reaching and significant impact to Commerce Platform.

This position requires that the candidate selected must currently possess and maintain an active TS/SCI security clearance with polygraph. The position further requires the candidate to opt into a commensurate clearance for each government agency for which they perform AWS work.

Why AWS:

  • Inclusive Team Culture: We foster a culture of inclusion through employee-led affinity groups and ongoing events.
  • Work/Life Balance: We value work-life harmony and strive for flexibility in our working culture.
  • Mentorship and Career Growth: We offer knowledge-sharing, mentorship, and career-advancing resources.
  • Diverse Experiences: We value diverse experiences and encourage candidates from all backgrounds to apply.

Join us in building innovative cloud solutions for the U.S. Government and be part of a team that's shaping the future of cloud computing!
