Description For Broadcast/Network Engineer, Amazon Live

Amazon Live is seeking a visionary Studio Broadcast and Network Engineer to lead the studio engineering efforts of our growing Live Production Technical Operations team. This key role will work closely with the Head of Production Operations & Strategy to design, implement, and maintain cutting-edge production systems in our JFK14 offices and in the cloud.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading the Technical Operations team in designing and deploying on-prem, hybrid, and cloud-based production systems
  • Overseeing technical broadcast planning, including network planning, encoder validation, and contingency planning
  • Configuring and maintaining SDI video sources and distribution infrastructure
  • Collaborating with Amazon Live Product Team and Production teams on new workflows and features
  • Writing clear business narratives and presenting them to leadership
  • Providing technical summaries and reviews of major events and issues
  • Leading Security Reviews for new software/hardware solutions

The ideal candidate will have an entrepreneurial spirit, excellent judgment and communication skills, and a passion for high standards. They will be responsible for delivering innovative solutions while building a team capable of implementing superior workflow systems.

This role is part of the Amazon Shoppable Videos (ASV) team, a growing business within Amazon Advertising, IMDb, and Grand Challenge. ASV aims to deliver video shopping experiences to Amazon consumers, enabling customers to find inspiration, information, entertainment, and community through videos during their shopping journey.

As the Studio Engineer, you will have significant influence in shaping the functionality and scale of our live broadcasts and post-production environments.

  • Experience managing multidisciplinary teams
  • Ability to drive collaborative projects to successful outcomes
