Business Intelligence Engineer

AWS Sales, Marketing, and Global Services (SMGS) is seeking a passionate Business Intelligence Engineer to join the BI team in the AWS Support organization. This role is crucial for driving revenue, adoption, and growth across various customer segments. As a BI Engineer, you'll work closely with internal stakeholders to define key performance indicators (KPIs) and implement them into dashboards/reports that drive decisions made by senior leadership. You'll analyze support business operations, develop intuitive dashboards, and help answer critical questions about support quality, customer satisfaction, and agent productivity. The role offers opportunities to work with modern cloud-based data technologies and the full set of AWS services.

Key responsibilities include:

• Understanding loosely defined or structured problems
• Providing BI solutions for complex issues and delivering large BI solutions
• Driving team business decisions and highlighting new opportunities
• Improving code quality and optimizing BI processes
• Applying basic statistical methods for difficult business problems

Required skills:

• 3+ years of experience analyzing and interpreting data with Redshift, Oracle, NoSQL, etc.
• Experience with data visualization tools like Tableau or Quicksight
• Expertise in data modeling, warehousing, and building ETL pipelines
• Proficiency in statistical analysis packages such as R, SAS, and Matlab
• Strong SQL skills and scripting experience (Python) for data processing and modeling

Preferred qualifications:

• Experience with AWS solutions (EC2, DynamoDB, S3, Redshift)
• Experience in data mining and working with large-scale, complex datasets in a business environment
