Description For Cloud Support Engineer II (Development and Mobile Services)

As a Cloud Support Engineer II (Development and Mobile Services) at Amazon Web Services Japan GK, you will be part of the AWS Support Engineering team, providing technical support to customers using AWS cloud services. Your role involves helping customers with their innovation through technical expertise, handling daily inquiries, learning about various use cases, and providing feedback to service development teams based on customer inquiries. You'll also participate in events like AWS re for cloud and AWS evangelism.

The team offers 24/7 Japanese technical support through web forms, phone, and chat. With support centers worldwide, there's no need for night shifts, and work-life harmony is achievable.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Learn and utilize the latest AWS technologies
  • Collaborate with AWS architects and service development teams
  • Improve AWS services based on customer support experiences
  • Facilitate communication with customers during critical events
  • Drive projects to improve support processes and customer technical support experiences
  • Create tutorials, technical articles, and how-to videos for the developer community
  • Communicate with leading engineers worldwide

The Development and Mobile Services (DMS) profile focuses on services for application developers, including serverless, mobile, IoT, and messaging services. You'll be working on the frontline of this profile, leveraging your extensive engineering experience.

Required Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of engineering experience
  • Basic knowledge of operating systems (Linux/Windows)
  • Basic network knowledge (TCP/IP, HTTP/HTTPS)
  • Application development experience (frontend/mobile/server-side/embedded)
  • Coding experience (any language or scale)
  • Continuous learning mindset and ability to lead in your technical domain
  • Excellent Japanese communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Ability to multitask
  • English communication skills (reading and writing)
  • Availability to work 8 hours between 7:00 and 21:00, including weekend rotations

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in analyzing and troubleshooting customer technical issues
  • Experience in designing and developing systems using serverless architecture
  • Experience in developing and operating applications using frameworks
  • Experience in developing and operating IoT systems
  • Experience in developing and operating systems incorporating messaging services
