Description For Commissioning Engineer, AMER-Central ACx

AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. As a Data Center Commissioning Engineer (CxE), you'll be part of a highly creative, efficient team tasked with building and supporting the operations of Amazon-owned data centers. You'll be responsible for supporting vendors, contractors, and other teams involved in the construction and commissioning of various systems such as medium and low voltage power systems, generators, UPS, HVAC, chilled water systems, building management systems, and more.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing testing and validation oversight of AWS data center electrical and mechanical infrastructure
  • Reviewing design documents and leading Factory Witness Testing (FWT)
  • Managing third-party commissioning vendors in the performance of onsite pre-functional, functional, and integrated systems testing
  • Taking ownership of project successes by diving deep to resolve technical issues
  • Communicating lessons learned and collaborating on program improvements
  • Providing multi-discipline input into scheduling, test script development, designing, and planning of projects
  • Reviewing component submittal packages and performing system level and integrated system testing
  • Auditing activities to ensure compliance with environmental, quality, and safety requirements
  • Comprehensive weekly reporting of project status and lessons learned

The role requires the ability to relocate to the Columbus, OH area and willingness to travel domestically and internationally for up to 20% of the year. US Citizenship is required.

  • 3+ years of engineering, installation, or startup/commissioning of electrical and mechanical systems
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or 3 years of relevant discipline work experience
  • 1+ years of field level project support/execution
  • US Citizenship
  • Ability to relocate to Columbus, OH area
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally up to 20% of the year
