Description For Control Systems Engineer Manager - Dallas, TX

Reliability & Maintenance Engineering (RME) team is hiring for a Control Systems Engineer Manager! Our Reliability & Maintenance Engineering (RME) team is integral to the success of Amazon worldwide. They manage risks, minimize system downtime, and find innovative ways to improve the way we work. Key responsibilities include:

  • Coordinate and plan work activities for Control Systems Techs/Leads
  • Work closely with various teams to support MHE systems optimization and project implementation
  • Understand, maintain, and troubleshoot material handling control systems
  • Monitor MHE metrics and partner with maintenance/operations for system performance issues
  • Act as first-level escalation support for Control Systems Techs/Leads
  • Mentor Control System Technicians (CST) and Control System Leads (CSL)
  • Facilitate Failure Analysis and Incident Review processes
  • Apply subject matter expertise in material handling and electronic systems
  • Partner with building Operations leadership, equipment vendors, and parts suppliers
  • Communicate technical issues and project timelines
  • Assist with skill assessments for technical positions
  • Travel up to 20% post-launch, 50% or more pre-launch

This role requires a Bachelor's Degree or +2 years of Amazon Blue Badge/FTE experience, and the ability to work flexible schedules/shifts/areas, including weekends, nights, and/or holidays.

Preferred qualifications include experience with electrical theory, robotics, controls components, automated equipment, industrial electrical hands-on experience, and familiarity with programming software and robotics work cells. The ideal candidate should have excellent written, verbal, and customer service skills, as well as experience with advanced automation controls systems and industrial robotics.
