Description For Controls Engineer, Center for Infrastructure Software and Controls

AWS Infrastructure Services is seeking a Controls Engineer to join their team responsible for keeping the cloud running. This role is crucial in supporting AWS data centers worldwide, focusing on the design, planning, delivery, and operation of global infrastructure. The position combines technical expertise in data center environmental controls systems with strategic thinking to develop next-generation controller designs and sequence development.

The ideal candidate will work on complex challenges involving data center operations, automated sequences, and hardware integration. You'll be developing mechanisms for controller design, sequence development, and creating engineering specifications that will be deployed at massive scale. The role requires a deep understanding of critical infrastructure, building operations, mechanical plant strategies, and BMS/EPMS programming concepts.

Key responsibilities include leading collaborations across multiple teams, creating and maintaining specification documents, and developing mechanisms for mechanical and electrical controls products. You'll work with AWS cloud services to analyze and present data, and may travel to support project initiatives.

The position offers competitive compensation ranging from $129,200 to $212,800 per year, depending on location and experience. Responsibilities For Controls Engineer, Center for Infrastructure Software and Controls

  • Lead and facilitate collaboration with multiple teams including construction, programmers, sourcing, and team managers
  • Create, maintain, and disseminate specification documents for global projects
  • Create and support mechanisms for mechanical and electrical controls products
  • Interact with AWS cloud services and other applications to present, archive and analyze accumulated data
  • Travel when needed to manage and/or support project initiatives

Requirements For Controls Engineer, Center for Infrastructure Software and Controls

Linux
  • 3+ years experience with BMS or PLC design and programming sequence logic
  • 3+ years designing or contributing to the design of Controls and Monitoring solution projects
  • 3+ years' experience working with complex control systems including electrical and mechanical devices
  • 5+ years experience driving large-scale enterprise data center or critical environment projects
  • B.S. in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Technology (preferred)
  • Experience with the use and programming of control and gateway devices
  • Design and integration experience with Industrial IOT Solutions
  • Knowledge of Data Center Facilities Infrastructure and operation
