Description For Data Center IT Support Engineer

As a Data Centre Technician in Melbourne, you will:

  • Be the senior resolver for your support team
  • Troubleshoot and solve complex infrastructure issues
  • Create and maintain documentation on supported technologies
  • Be the primary escalation point for junior staff
  • Maintain high system reliability by prioritizing and resolving trouble tickets efficiently
  • Share knowledge and educate less technical staff on best practices in Data Center Operations
  • Participate in and deliver high impact projects
  • Contribute to and improve operational efficiency

Key Requirements:

  • 3+ years of server hardware management, network management, and troubleshooting experience
  • Experience with Network Hardware: Copper and Optical Fiber Cabling, Switches, Routers
  • Experience with storage subsystems
  • Linux administration knowledge and experience
  • Ability to work 24/7 shift coverage, including 12-hour rotating shifts
  • Valid driver's license and own vehicle

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associate's degree or higher in an IT-related field with applicable certifications or equivalent professional/military experience
  • Previous experience working in a Data Centre environment
  • Networking experience with CCNA and/or Network+ certifications
