Description For Data Engineer I, AWS Infrastructure Supply Chain Intelligence

AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. We're the people who keep the cloud running. We support all AWS data centers and all of the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure our customers have continual access to the innovation they rely on.

We are looking for a talented Data Engineer to join the Manufacturing Operations, Transportation Operations, and Reverse (MOTOR) organization in support of our Supply Chain Intelligence team. MOTOR manages the manufacturing of datacenter racks and the movement of racks/parts through the supply chain, consisting of transportation, warehousing, and reverse logistics into and out of the data centers.

This role helps connect the different systems across the supply chain together so operational teams have clean, actionable data to work with. The ideal candidate relishes working with large volumes of data, enjoys the challenge of highly complex technical contexts, and is passionate about data and analytics.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Building and maintaining infrastructure to answer questions with data
  • Defining data engineering processes leveraging AWS services
  • Developing high-quality solutions for faster product/model development
  • Collaborating with various teams to understand business and technical requirements
  • Interfacing with other teams to extract, transform, and load data
  • Leading technical design and implementation of data infrastructure
  • Designing and managing data audit, quality, and reconciliation processes

The team provides data engineering and business intelligence engineering services to the rest of MOTOR, ensuring operational teams have accurate, timely data and business insights to improve operational excellence.

  • 1+ years of data engineering experience
  • Experience with data modeling, warehousing and building ETL pipelines
  • Experience with one or more query language (e.g., SQL, PL/SQL, DDL, MDX, HiveQL, SparkSQL, Scala)
  • Experience with one or more scripting language (e.g., Python, KornShell)
