Amazon IN Platform Development team is seeking a talented Data Engineer to join their Data Engineering & Analytics team in Bengaluru, India. This role sits at the intersection of technology and business, offering an exciting opportunity to work on pan-Amazon India businesses.
The position is part of the India Data Engineering and Analytics (IDEA) team, which serves as the central data engineering hub for Amazon India. The team's mission is to simplify and accelerate data-driven decision making by providing cost-effective, easy, and timely access to high-quality data through their Unified Data & Analytics Infrastructure (UDAI).
As a Data Engineer, you'll be responsible for building and maintaining data infrastructure that processes every Amazon India transaction. You'll work closely with business owners to identify areas of improvement and optimization, creating solutions like business process automation, payment behavior analysis, campaign analysis, and failure prediction systems that can scale with growth.
The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical background in data domains including storage, processing, and analytics, combined with solid business acumen and a solution-oriented mindset. You'll need to be a self-starter who can work backwards from business problems to devise optimal solutions, while maintaining excellent communication skills for partnering with business owners and other teams.
Key responsibilities include designing and implementing data infrastructure, working with various AWS technologies, building ETL pipelines, and continuously improving reporting and analysis processes. You'll be part of a team that provides core data engineering infrastructure, ready-to-use datasets, and self-service reporting capabilities.
