Amazon's ATS Machine Learning & Engineering team is seeking a data-driven and customer-obsessed Data Engineer to join their ranks. As a Data Engineer, you'll be at the forefront of designing, building, and supporting scalable data infrastructure solutions in a complex, large-scale data environment.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Developing and enhancing AI/ML models through robust data pipeline implementation
  • Integrating diverse data sources and making data accessible for various purposes
  • Implementing solutions for data aggregation and secure, fast retrieval
  • Ensuring data quality meets business needs

The role offers exposure to cutting-edge AWS services and encourages professional development. You'll work on:

  • Architecting and implementing next-generation Data solutions
  • Managing AWS resources (EC2, ECS, Lambda, Redshift, etc.)
  • Collaborating with scientists, engineers, and developers to deliver high-quality data architecture and pipelines
  • Extracting, transforming, and loading data from various sources
  • Creating advanced BI dashboards and applications
  • Designing and maintaining metrics, reports, and analyses for key business decisions

The Machine Learning & Engineering team, part of the EU ATS Science and Technology organization, focuses on innovative solutions for Amazon's complex forecasting and planning problems. You'll be joining a diverse team of Data Engineers, Software Development Engineers, Business Intelligence Engineers, and Applied Scientists working on state-of-the-art AI/ML models for Amazon's transportation planning.

Responsibilities For Data Engineer, Machine Learning & Engineering, Science and Technology

  • Contribute to development and performance improvement of AI/ML models through implementation of robust data pipelines
  • Integrate data from diverse sources and make data accessible for reporting, analysis, machine learning, and ad-hoc requests
  • Implement solutions to aggregate data and enable fast yet secure data retrieval
  • Curate quality data that meets business needs
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand requirements, design technical solutions, and develop pipelines and datasets
  • Stay up-to-date on emerging technologies in the data space and evaluate new technologies for potential implementation
  • Contribute to system scalability, reliability, and efficiency
  • Manage AWS resources including EC2, ECS, Lambda, Redshift, etc.
  • Interface with other technology teams to extract, transform, and load data from a wide variety of data sources
  • Make large and/or complex data more accessible, understandable and usable by implementing advanced BI dashboards and applications
  • Own the design, development, and maintenance of metrics, reports, analyses, dashboards, etc. to drive key business decisions

Requirements For Data Engineer, Machine Learning & Engineering, Science and Technology

Python
  • Experience in data engineering
  • Experience with data modeling, warehousing and building ETL pipelines
  • Experience with one or more query language (e.g., SQL, PL/SQL, DDL, MDX, HiveQL, SparkSQL, Scala)
  • Experience with one or more scripting language (e.g., Python, KornShell)
  • Knowledge of AWS Infrastructure
