Data Engineer, WW Prime - Core Services

The Prime Data Engineering & Analytics (PDEA) team at Amazon is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to build and manage their central petabyte-scale data infrastructure supporting worldwide Prime business operations. This role is crucial for understanding customer data to provide relevant benefits such as fast free shipping, instant videos, streaming music, and free Kindle books across international markets.

Working in one of the world's largest data environments, you'll collaborate with marketing, retail, finance, analytics, machine learning, and technology teams to develop real-time data processing solutions. These solutions will provide Amazon leadership and stakeholders with timely access to customer insights. The position involves building an end-to-end platform using latest AWS technologies and software development principles.

As a Data Engineer, you'll lead the architecture, design, and development of the data, metrics, and reporting platform for Prime. Your responsibilities include implementing automated Business Intelligence solutions, including big data and analytical capabilities that support Development Engineers, Analysts, and Retail business stakeholders. The role requires partnering with business leaders to drive strategy, prioritize projects, and manage the development process from design to release.

The ideal candidate brings 5+ years of data engineering experience, strong SQL skills, and expertise in languages like Python, Java, or Scala. Experience with big data technologies such as Hadoop, Hive, Spark, and EMR is preferred.
