Description For DCEO Chief Engineer, ADC InfraOps DCEO

Amazon is seeking an energetic, detail-oriented individual to join their Data Center Engineering Operations Team. This role, known as the Data Center Chief Engineer (CE), is responsible for maintaining the critical physical infrastructure supporting Amazon Web Services. The CE ensures all electrical, mechanical, and fire/life safety equipment within the data center operates at peak efficiency, with a focus on 100% availability and first-class customer service.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Overseeing daily operations and maintenance of mechanical and electrical equipment
  • Acting as an escalation point for facilities-related issues
  • Performing root cause analysis of equipment failures
  • Creating and deploying new standard practices
  • Providing training and guidance to Engineering Operations Technicians
  • Ensuring adherence to safety procedures
  • Managing small-to-medium impacting projects

The ideal candidate will have:

  • 2+ years of relevant work experience in a data center
  • 5+ years of experience with mechanical and electrical systems
  • A current, active US Government Security Clearance at the Top Secret Level
  • Strong technical expertise in data center equipment
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills
