Description For Energy Projects Manager, AWS Energy Team

AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. We're looking for a results-oriented individual to join the AWS Energy Team. In this role, you will support AWS's infrastructure expansion by leading energy projects with electric utilities and energy companies across AWS regions. You will collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to grow AWS's diverse, reliable and low-cost energy supply.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing multiple Utilities, EPC and Owner's Engineers to deliver a portfolio of inflight medium voltage and high voltage power infrastructure projects.
  • Managing capital budgets for electrical infrastructure and energy projects.
  • Collaborating with internal teams and regulated utilities on the implementation and management of energy projects.
  • Identifying and developing innovative cost savings projects related to energy infrastructure and supply.
  • Working with utility regulators to develop policies that enable broader AWS strategies and objectives.

The ideal candidate will have a strong energy background, experience working with regulated electric utilities, and a proven track record of developing and delivering innovative energy projects. This role requires some domestic travel (less than 20%).

Requirements For Energy Projects Manager, AWS Energy Team

  • Bachelor's Degree (BA/BS) in Engineering/Business or other technical field, or an additional 4+ years of relevant experience
  • 5+ years of experience working in utility/energy industry in a commercial/business development or technical role
  • 2+ years of experience developing and delivering Medium Voltage and High Voltage electric infrastructure projects in a planning or project management role
  • 2+ years of experience reviewing energy projects and contracts with utilities and contractors
  • 2+ years of experience collaborating with external stakeholders to drive projects
