AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. We're seeking a self-starter to join the AWS Energy team in pioneering the future for data center utility power. This role involves developing and executing the strategy for delivering energy projects and partnering with electric utilities and energy companies across the Americas.
Key responsibilities include:
- Defining end-to-end power strategy for scaling and operating AWS' diverse, low-cost energy supply
- Managing large-scale, technically complex power infrastructure projects across multiple geographies
- Exploring and discovering new supply opportunities that deliver near-term capacity with an accelerated path to net-zero carbon supply
- Reporting status, risks, mitigations, and successes to C-level and VP-level leadership
- Managing utility interactions and coordinating efforts between real estate, engineering, and planning teams
- Negotiating and executing power supply contracts across AWS regions
- Creating innovative supply structures that integrate renewable energy portfolio
The ideal candidate will have:
- Strong energy background with experience in regulated electric utilities
- Proven track record of developing and delivering innovative energy projects
- Ability to think strategically about business, operations, and technical challenges
- Skill in driving tactical execution of project schedules, contracts, and initiatives
- Experience in reliably driving initiatives to completion in high-speed, constrained environments
