Description For Lab Engineer, Kuiper - Plexus Lab

Project Kuiper is an ambitious initiative by Amazon to launch a constellation of Low Earth Orbit satellites that will provide low-latency, high-speed broadband connectivity to unserved and underserved communities worldwide. As a Lab Engineer in the Kuiper Plexus Lab team, you'll be responsible for managing and maintaining the lab infrastructure that enables software development and testing on real hardware. This role combines hands-on technical work with infrastructure management, requiring both technical expertise and strong organizational skills.

The position involves designing and maintaining test fixtures, troubleshooting complex hardware and software issues, and ensuring high availability of lab resources. You'll work closely with software and hardware development teams to facilitate rapid and high-quality software delivery. The Kuiper Plexus team plays a crucial role in quality assurance, owning the labs and tools used for developing and verifying networking software that will operate both on the ground and in space. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to a cutting-edge space technology project while working with state-of-the-art hardware and software systems.

The compensation package includes a competitive base salary ranging from $89,500 to $189,900 depending on location and experience, plus potential equity compensation and comprehensive benefits. The position is based in Redmond, WA, and due to export control requirements, candidates must be U.S. citizens, permanent residents, or have refugee/asylee status.

This role offers the chance to work on innovative space technology while building and maintaining critical infrastructure that enables software development for satellite systems.
