Description For Network Dev Engineer, GCNA - Capacity Engineering (Level 4)

AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. The team is responsible for keeping the cloud running by supporting all AWS data centers, servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment.

The AWS GCNA (Global Connectivity and Network Availability) Organization is seeking a Senior Network Development Engineer to join their AWS global Internet capacity team. This role is crucial in enabling world-class Internet connectivity that sets the global standard for AWS network performance, availability, security, and cost.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead planning of Internet (transit and peering) capacity designs to meet customer demand
  • Build and scale global Internet capacity to stay ahead of customer needs
  • Drive network and process innovation
  • Lead operational excellence projects
  • Identify and troubleshoot complex configuration/deployment issues
  • Develop safe delivery through change control and CI/CD pipeline

Requirements For Network Dev Engineer, GCNA - Capacity Engineering (Level 4)

  • 2+ years of major internet routing protocols experience
  • 1+ years of working in a Linux/Unix environment experience
  • 1+ years of automation scripting using Python, Bash, Shell and/or Perl experience
  • Understanding of TCP/IP networking, IP routing, Server Load Balancing
  • Knowledge of Network Security architecture and core technologies
