AWS Infrastructure Services is seeking a Network Development Engineer II to join their team responsible for the design, planning, delivery, and operation of AWS global infrastructure. This role combines network engineering with automation to support one of the world's largest and most complex networks. The position focuses on deploying and scaling network infrastructure across multiple global datacenters that supports Amazon Retail Service, Kindle, Payments, and AWS services.
The Internet Edge team you'll join provides high-performing Internet connectivity for various Amazon services including retail, video streaming, content delivery, DNS, AWS services, and consumer devices. You'll work on evolving routing policy, implementing traffic engineering solutions, growing the peering footprint, and securing the network from bad actors on the Internet.
Key responsibilities include automating network infrastructure deployment, scaling network designs to meet customer demand, creating efficient deployment processes, and working with internal customers on solution design and implementation. You'll also be responsible for maintaining network standards and implementing changes while working in a 24x7 on-call rotation.
The role requires expertise in network protocols, Linux/Unix environments, and automation scripting.
