AWS Infrastructure Services is seeking a Network Development Engineer to join their Network Fabric Engineering (NFE) team. This role is crucial in building, deploying, and scaling Amazon networks that support AWS across multiple global datacenters. The position focuses on delivering simple, sustainable network solutions while ensuring high availability and performance.

The role combines network engineering expertise with systems operations, requiring strong skills in IP routing protocols, network automation, and troubleshooting. You'll work with cutting-edge networking technologies, from Top of Rack to Network Border infrastructure, while collaborating with various AWS teams to implement and maintain network solutions.

As part of AWS Core Networking, you'll help balance efficiency, performance, and reliability in data center operations. The team owns solutions for rack aggregation and data center interconnection, directly impacting AWS customer experience. You'll participate in a 24x7 on-call rotation, managing critical network support and problem resolution under pressure.

Requirements For Network Development Engineer, Datacentre Fabrics - Product Engineering

  • 4+ years experience in a network focused hands-on technical role working with IP routing protocols/technologies
  • 4+ years experience developing engineering, deployment, or operations mechanisms
  • 4+ years experience in a technical on-call capacity
  • 1+ years of experience in automation via Bash/shell scripting and Perl/Python programming
  • Understanding of TCP/IP networking, IP routing, Server Load Balancing
  • Experience with router, server load balancer, and firewall vendor platforms
