AWS Infrastructure Services is seeking a Network Development Engineer to join their Office Network Engineering (ONE) team within the GCNA (Global Connectivity and Network Availability) Organization. This role is crucial in designing and implementing next-generation IP networks that serve as the backbone of AWS's global infrastructure.
The position involves working with cloud-based technologies to design SDWAN/Edge networks serving 500+ remote offices, utilizing services like Transit Gateway, NAT gateways, AWS Network Firewall, and DX Gateways. You'll be responsible for automating network device deployments using infrastructure as code approaches with tools like CDK and Python.
As part of the Backbone Enterprise and Regional Engineering (BERE) organization, you'll work on one of the world's largest networks, developing solutions for complex challenges at unprecedented scale. The role requires collaboration with various engineering teams to ensure smooth implementation of new designs and products while maintaining high standards of network security and reliability.
Key responsibilities include creating repeatable deployment processes, establishing network standards, leading design reviews, and participating in on-call rotations. The ideal candidate will have strong experience with routing protocols, Linux/Unix environments, and automation scripting.
