Network Development Engineer, GCNA-D, GCNA-D

AWS Infrastructure Services is seeking a Network Development Engineer to join their GCNA (Global Connectivity and Network Availability) Organization's EDGE team. This role is crucial in maintaining and evolving AWS's global network infrastructure, which serves as the backbone connecting AWS's worldwide network. The position combines network engineering with Unix systems expertise to deliver sustainable solutions for next-generation IP networks.

The role involves working with cutting-edge network technologies and being responsible for the stability and sustainability of AWS's global infrastructure. You'll be part of the team that keeps the cloud running, supporting all AWS data centers and their critical infrastructure components. The position offers the opportunity to work on some of the most challenging problems in cloud infrastructure, dealing with thousands of variables impacting the supply chain.

As a Network Development Engineer, you'll collaborate with a diverse team of software, hardware, and network engineers, focusing on configurations standards and tools. You'll work closely with Systems and Software Engineers to ensure smooth deployment of new designs and products. The role involves managing critical network support, diagnosing issues, and resolving large-scale networking events.

Key responsibilities include implementing network changes, scaling automation, leading network projects, and maintaining network standards. You'll work with various routing protocols, interconnectivity platforms, and Unix systems. The position requires participation in a 24x7 on-call rotation and the ability to work under pressure during critical events.

The Internet Edge team you'll join is responsible for connecting Amazon to the global Internet, managing connections to thousands of external networks across hundreds of locations worldwide. Your work will directly impact the performance, availability, and security of Amazon's internet connectivity, serving crucial platforms like AWS services, Prime Video, CloudFront, and more.
