AWS Infrastructure Services is seeking a Network Development Engineer to join their GCNA (Global Connectivity and Network Availability) Organization's EDGE team. This role is crucial in maintaining and expanding AWS's global network infrastructure, which serves as the backbone connecting AWS services worldwide.
The position involves working with network and Unix systems engineering to deliver simple, sustainable, and repeatable solutions. You'll be part of the team responsible for controlling internet traffic that enables users to access their information and applications globally. The role combines hands-on technical work with strategic planning to ensure AWS's network infrastructure meets growing demands.
Key responsibilities include deploying and scaling network infrastructure across multiple global datacenters, implementing automation solutions, and working closely with internal customers on network designs. You'll be responsible for creating and maintaining network standards, implementing changes, and participating in an off-hours operations escalation rotation.
The Internet Edge team handles one of the largest edge surface areas in the world, managing terabits of traffic to and from the Internet. You'll work on evolving routing policy, implementing traffic engineering solutions, growing the peering footprint, and securing the network from bad actors.
This position offers competitive compensation ranging from $102,700 to $185,000 per year, depending on location and experience. AWS provides comprehensive benefits including medical coverage and 401k. The role requires at least 1 year of experience in network-focused technical roles and Unix/Linux command line experience.
The ideal candidate will have strong understanding of TCP/IP networking, routing protocols, and network security architecture. You'll be joining a diverse team of engineers and specialists, working in an inclusive culture that welcomes bold ideas and empowers ownership of projects from conception to completion.
This role represents an opportunity to work on cutting-edge network infrastructure that powers Amazon's global services, including retail, video streaming, content delivery, and cloud computing platforms. You'll be at the forefront of ensuring AWS maintains its position as the world's most comprehensive and broadly adopted cloud platform.
