Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking a Network Development Engineer to join their Network Engineering teams. This role is crucial in supporting the Earth's largest cloud provider, working on networks that demand the highest quality and reliability. As a Network Development Engineer, you'll be at the forefront of inventing future networks, requiring deep expertise in routing protocols and large-scale network operations. You'll play a vital role in driving technology changes, ensuring safe and reliable operations, collaborating with internal teams and customers, developing automated tooling, and implementing design optimizations for enhanced reliability and performance.

The Network Scaling and Deployment team is responsible for building and growing Amazon's worldwide network infrastructure. You'll work with cutting-edge technologies and network topologies to address the ever-increasing demand for network capacity. The role requires a passion for new technologies, continuous learning, and the ability to develop effective ways to build and scale networks while maintaining service safety.

This position is ideal for recent graduates with a strong foundation in networking and programming. You'll join AWS Infrastructure Services, which owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. The team works on challenging problems involving thousands of variables in the supply chain, ensuring customers have continuous access to AWS services.

Responsibilities For Network Development Engineer, Regional Border Operations

  • Provide critical network operations support to AWS's internal and external customers
  • Diagnose, remediate and troubleshoot large-scale networking events
  • Support and maintain next generation data-center networks
  • Deliver simple, sustainable and repeatable solutions
  • Troubleshoot networking, routing and interconnectivity issues
  • Solve complex challenges on an unprecedented scale

Requirements For Network Development Engineer, Regional Border Operations

Python
Linux
  • Currently enrolled in or received a Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Networking or related field (graduated less than 12 months ago)
  • Knowledge of IP Networking fundamentals such as BGP, OSPF and other R&S technologies
  • Experience scripting in languages such as Python, Perl or Shell
  • Comfortable working in a Linux/Unix environment
