Description For Network Development Engineer, Routing Performance and Design Engineering

AWS Infrastructure Services is seeking a Network Development Engineer to join their Routing, Performance and Design Engineering team within the Backbone Enterprise and Regional Engineering (BERE) Organization. This role is crucial in maintaining one of the world's largest backbone networks, focusing on routing and topology requirements.

The position involves working with cutting-edge network infrastructure that provides global connectivity between AWS Regions and edge locations. You'll be part of a team that manages a network growing by 70% annually, supporting both AWS customers and internal services. The role combines hands-on technical work with strategic planning and innovation.

Key responsibilities include implementing network changes, collaborating with automation teams, leading network projects, and providing critical support for large-scale networking events. You'll work with various technologies from Top of Rack to Network Border, ensuring high availability and performance of AWS's global infrastructure.

The ideal candidate will bring strong experience in IP routing protocols, network operations, and automation skills. You'll work in a 24x7 team rotation, managing customer issues under pressure, and contributing to the continuous improvement of network infrastructure.

  • Create and implement changes on the network

Requirements For Network Development Engineer, Routing Performance and Design Engineering

  • 1+ year of experience in automation via Bash/shell scripting and Perl/Python
