OSP Design Engineer, Metro Fiber, Fiber Engineering

We support all AWS data centers and all of the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure our customers have continual access to the innovation they rely on. We work on the most challenging problems, with thousands of variables impacting the supply chain.

As an OSP Design Engineer for Metro Fiber, you will:

• Design fiber solutions and maintain records surrounding our fiber optic infrastructure using GIS and associated tools.
• Interface with internal (Data Center Engineering, Business Developers, Deployment Engineers, Tool Automation) and external stakeholders (Construction Vendors, Engineering Firms).
• Create engineering design and documents, single line drawings, cable routing, and splicing work packages.
• Ingest and audit GIS data for completeness and accuracy.
• Optimize processes to improve efficiency and delivery.

• Understand Underground Construction Techniques
• Understand Outside and Inside Plant Cabling and Routing
• Apply engineering and process design methodology
• Manage multiple tasks simultaneously
• Work across multiple time zones

The ideal candidate should be highly autonomous, possess strong written and verbal communication skills, and have strong project management and time management skills. The ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment is essential.

This role offers an opportunity to work on one of the world's largest and most complex networks, with high visibility and interesting challenges. Travel is required for 10% of the time.
