Quality Assurance Engineer-I, ADECT VAR

Amazon Alexa teams Worldwide is seeking a Quality Assurance Engineer to work on moderate to complex solutions and services. The ideal candidate should have proven expertise in scalable systems, working across technologies, and mentoring junior engineers.

Key responsibilities include:

• Utilizing innovative testing technologies to develop product testing strategies and end-to-end test plans
• Participating in design and code inspections
• Working with Software Development Engineers to understand product architecture and features
• Performing API level testing using automation tools
• Conducting manual testing for all service functionalities before automation
• Analyzing test logs, creating test reports, and coordinating with stakeholders
• Working in an Agile/Scrum environment to deliver high-quality software

Quality Assurance Engineers at Amazon test code at the user level, both manually and with automated tools. They are not pure black box testers but more grey box testers, capable of understanding software internals, debugging problems, and writing automated tests with Java and/or user-level automated tools.

SQA Engineers collaborate with various teams including Software Development Engineers, Product Management, User Interaction, and Customer Support to understand customer usage models, develop test plans and suites that approximate real-world environments, create regression tests, and drive the software development process towards quality-centric methodologies.
