Description For Security Engineer, EPP Analytics

The Amazon Security Enterprise Protection team builds tools and services for monitoring and responding to malicious activity on Amazon's internal network. We collect, process, and analyze data from all parts of Amazon's worldwide infrastructure to identify and reduce risks. As a Security Engineer, you will design and build secure solutions for mission-critical systems that protect Amazon and customer data. Your responsibilities include:

  • Collaborating with teams to ensure customer safety while developing novel tools and services
  • Inspecting application code for security issues
  • Fine-tuning designs for new tools
  • Designing and developing new tools or services
  • Articulating risks to technical and non-technical audiences
  • Building detections and analytics to find and reduce insider risk
  • Working with internal service teams, IT services teams, and Risk Assessment and Security Response teams
  • Developing detections and response plans
  • Leading complex and ambiguous projects
  • Contributing to "think big" ideas to radically change approaches to problem spaces
  • Driving feedback and prioritization models
  • Leading calibration and review exercises across teams

Requirements For Security Engineer, EPP Analytics

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
  • 3+ years of experience in threat modeling, secure coding, identity management and authentication, software development, cryptography, system administration, or network security
  • Knowledge of security engineering, system and network security, authentication and security protocols, cryptography, and application security
  • Experience reading and writing in at least one programming language
