Description For Security Engineer - Hardware, Secure Hardware And Foundational Technologies Team

At Amazon Security (AmSec), we're at the forefront of protecting customer trust across all Amazon products and services. As a Security Engineer in the Secure Hardware and Foundational Technologies group, you'll help secure Amazon's newest products and emerging technologies. The role focuses on securing foundational platforms including OS kernels, virtualization, device emulation, firmware, and hardware.

You'll conduct security reviews, perform threat modeling, develop security detection tools, and execute hands-on security evaluations. The position requires deep technical expertise in hardware security, operating system hardening, and cloud-scale infrastructure. You'll work collaboratively with diverse engineering teams, providing clear technical direction and risk mitigation guidance to leaders at all levels.

Linux
  • BS in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent work experience
  • Extensive experience in Security Engineering or Development of Security capabilities
  • 2 years experience in two or more: Virtualization security, Hardware security, x86/ARM chipset security, Physical security testing, Security testing of compute platforms
  • Experience with tamper resistance and detection techniques
