Description For Security Support Engineer, Vulnerability Management and Remediation Operations

Amazon Security is seeking an experienced and innovative Support Engineer to join their Vulnerability Management and Remediation Operations (VMRO) team in London. This role sits at the intersection of cybersecurity and engineering, focusing on protecting Amazon's vast ecosystem from security vulnerabilities. The VMRO team plays a crucial role in assessing, detecting, and driving the remediation of vulnerabilities across Amazon's global infrastructure.

As a Security Support Engineer, you'll be responsible for managing vulnerability detection campaigns, working closely with various teams to improve security posture, and implementing critical security fixes. You'll leverage your technical expertise to analyze vulnerabilities affecting Amazon's infrastructure, services, and applications, while contributing to automation efforts to enhance efficiency.

Responsibilities For Security Support Engineer, Vulnerability Management and Remediation Operations

  • Support vulnerability detection campaigns and work with Campaign Owners
  • Assess and negotiate with customers to drive down security risk
  • Collaborate with builder teams to implement security fixes
  • Review and analyze common vulnerability disclosures
  • Help triage vulnerabilities and contribute to impact assessments
  • Contribute to automation of repetitive tasks
  • Participate in on-call rotation
  • Update documentation and share knowledge

Requirements For Security Support Engineer, Vulnerability Management and Remediation Operations

Linux
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Cybersecurity or related technical degree or 2+ years equivalent experience
  • Strong understanding of security concepts and security mindset
  • Understanding of computer and network weaknesses and mitigating controls
  • Experience with secure-cloud configuration (CloudTrail, AWS Config)
  • Experience with cloud-security technologies (VPC, Security Groups, WAF)
  • Experience with identity and access concepts
  • Strong ability to understand risk and prioritization
  • Effective communication skills in technical and business settings
