As a Senior Embedded Software Engineer on the optical inter-satellite link (ISL) team, you'll be at the forefront of developing cutting-edge software systems for high-rate optical communications. This role combines embedded software development with satellite communications technology, requiring expertise in C/C++/Rust programming and RTOS environments.

You'll work with a multi-disciplinary team of top-notch engineers, collaborating closely with optical, electrical, firmware, and opto-mechanical development teams. Your responsibilities will span the entire software development lifecycle, from initial planning to deployment and maintenance.

Responsibilities For Senior Embedded Software Engineer, Optical Inter-Satellite Link

  • Develop embedded software in C/C++/Rust and assembly for RTOS and/or bare-metal environments
  • Participate in the full life-cycle of development from planning to deployment and maintenance
  • Develop highly reliable embedded software from low level to flight control and management application level
  • Work closely with hardware and systems engineers to support board-bring up and design of control algorithms
  • Design, implement, and verify software systems to control and monitor high-rate optical communications

Requirements For Senior Embedded Software Engineer, Optical Inter-Satellite Link

Rust
  • 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
  • 5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience
  • 5+ years of leading design or architecture of new and existing systems experience
  • Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident, or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum
