As a Senior PostgreSQL Database Engineer on the Database Engineering Team for RDS and Aurora PostgreSQL, you'll be at the forefront of database innovation. PostgreSQL has been named database of the year three times by DB-Engines, and your expertise will be crucial in building and improving this fully managed database service.

This isn't a typical DBA role - you'll be an integral part of the core database engineering team, working closely with developers and product managers throughout the entire product lifecycle. From feature brainstorming to implementation and customer escalation handling, you'll shape the future of AWS's database services.

You'll join AWS Utility Computing (UC), which provides foundational services like S3 and EC2, along with cutting-edge innovations. Your role involves supporting various AWS services, including Compute, Database, Storage, IoT, Platform, and Productivity Apps.

Key responsibilities include:

• Working directly with customers to solve critical issues and implement best practices
• Being the voice of the customer in the engineering process
• Driving feature enhancements and performance improvements
• Serving as the ultimate subject matter expert for databases
• Engaging with the open-source community through forums, conferences, and code contributions
• Expanding knowledge across multiple database engines

The role offers competitive compensation ($131,400 - $227,000 base salary) plus equity and comprehensive benefits.
