Senior Software Development Engineer - AWS Systems Manager

Our team, AWS Systems Manager, is looking for a Senior SDE to improve the functionality of our core open source amazon-ssm-agent and build the next version of the agent. AWS Systems Manager is the operations hub for the AWS cloud. Many customers from startups to enterprises are running their entire infrastructure or parts of it in AWS. Operating this infrastructure in the cloud in a reliable way is absolutely important to our customers and we are a core part of that story. Many IT administrators and DevOps engineers rely on Systems Manager to operate their infrastructure safely and securely at scale.

As a Senior SDE, you will:

• Work on improving the functionality of the core open source amazon-ssm-agent
• Build the next version of the agent
• Be part of a team that delivers results while leveraging diverse backgrounds and skill sets
• Contribute to a unified operational dashboard for viewing operational data from multiple AWS services
• Help manage large fleets of instances and distributed applications
• Automate operational tasks and define safe operational workflows

Qualifications:

• 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
• 5+ years of programming experience with at least one software programming language
• 5+ years of experience leading design or architecture of new and existing systems
• Experience as a mentor, tech lead, or leading an engineering team
• Full software development life cycle experience is preferred
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent is preferred
• Experience in Rust and/or Go programming languages is a plus
