Description For Senior Software Development Engineer, Customer Engagement Technology

Amazon's Customer Engagement Technology (CET) team is at the forefront of transforming customer service through AI and machine learning. We're seeking a Senior Software Development Engineer to lead the development of conversational AI systems that enhance customer service experiences globally. This role combines cutting-edge technology with practical business impact, focusing on building multi-modal, multi-turn dialogue systems that operate at Amazon scale.

You'll be working with state-of-the-art Large Language Models (LLMs) to create intelligent chatbots that can understand and resolve customer issues automatically. The role involves architecting robust inference infrastructure, implementing sophisticated deployment pipelines, and creating ML services that orchestrate complex interactions between multiple models.

As a technical leader, you'll collaborate with cross-functional teams including Product Managers, UX designers, and Applied Scientists to deliver exceptional conversational AI experiences. You'll be responsible for implementing advanced features like retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), response recommendation, and machine translation capabilities.

The position offers competitive compensation ranging from $151,300 to $261,500 per year, depending on location, plus equity and comprehensive benefits.
