Amazon Web Services is seeking a Solutions Architect to support US Government customers in the Northern Virginia \ DC Metro area. The ideal candidate will help Intelligence Community agencies implement innovative cloud computing solutions, solve technical problems, and understand application architectures and integration approaches.
Key responsibilities include:
- Partner with customers, AWS Sales, and other AWS teams to craft scalable cloud architectures
- Drive revenue growth across a broad set of customers
- Help organizations understand best practices around advanced cloud-based solutions
- Shape and execute strategy to build mindshare and broad use of AWS within the Intelligence Community
- Conduct training sessions and contribute to customer-facing publications
- Build relationships with senior technical individuals within customer organizations
The role requires:
- Strong technical background in software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, or networking
- Experience in designing and implementing applications and infrastructures
- Excellent communication skills to present technical solutions to diverse stakeholders
- Active TS/SCI security clearance with polygraph

Compensation includes a competitive base salary range of $138,200 to $239,000 per year, depending on location and experience, plus potential equity, sign-on payments, and comprehensive benefits.
Responsibilities For Senior Solutions Architect, National Security Solutions Architecture Team
- Partner with sales team to formulate and execute sales strategy
- Ensure success in building and migrating applications on AWS
- Educate customers on AWS value proposition
- Conduct architectural discussions and training sessions
- Capture and share best practices
- Contribute to customer-facing publications
- Build relationships with technical leaders in customer organizations
- Act as technical liaison between customers and AWS teams
Requirements For Senior Solutions Architect, National Security Solutions Architecture Team
- 8+ years of experience in technology domains (software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, data & analytics)
- 6+ years of design, implementation, or consulting in applications and infrastructures
- Experience communicating technical solutions to diverse stakeholders
- Experience defining technical solutions to meet business objectives
- Current, active US Government Security Clearance of TS/SCI with Polygraph
- Bachelor's degree or relevant certifications (preferred)
- 10+ years of infrastructure architecture, database architecture and networking experience (preferred)
- Experience with Cloud/Virtualization solutions (preferred)
- Knowledge of software development tools and methodologies (preferred)
- Understanding of Federal Government security requirements (preferred)
