Senior Solutions Architect, UK Public Sector

AWS Sales, Marketing, and Global Services (SMGS) is responsible for driving revenue, adoption, and growth from the largest and fastest growing small- and mid-market accounts to enterprise-level customers including public sector. As a Senior Solutions Architect for UK Public Sector, you will:

• Be a trusted advisor and thought leader enabling customers to succeed in their missions
• Help customers implement innovative cloud computing solutions and solve technical problems
• Support the UK RSE (Research Software Engineer) community
• Work with government agencies, state-owned companies, educational institutions, healthcare and non-profit organisations
• Help customers build a deeper understanding of cloud technology and application architectures
• Have ownership of the technical relationship with customers
• Make recommendations on security, cost, performance, reliability, operational efficiency and best-practice architectures
• Be an advocate for customers internally, driving continual improvements to AWS services
• Help shape the future of the Solutions Architecture organisation
• Create and share best practices, technical content, and new reference architectures
• Educate AWS customers about the art of the possible while imagining the impossible

Key responsibilities include:

• Providing strategic guidance to researchers and departments regarding research computing and software engineering
• Developing a professional profile through activities like organizing conferences, hackathons, and training events
• Engaging with the academic community and research funders to identify opportunities for cloud-based research
• Collaborating with customers and partners to tackle challenges, implementation, and migration of research workloads into the AWS cloud
