AWS Infrastructure Services (AIS) is responsible for the design, planning, delivery, and operation of AWS's global infrastructure. As a Server Engineer in the Data Center Operations team, you will be part of the team that keeps the cloud running by maintaining the world's largest computing infrastructure.
Your role will involve hands-on management of hardware lifecycle in our IT infrastructure, including installing and maintaining server racks, troubleshooting hardware issues, and responding to operational emergencies. You'll work with various IT hardware and network components, ensuring the continuous operation of our data center facilities.
The position requires working in rotating shifts (10-hour shifts with 1-hour break, 4 days on/3 days off) with standard work hours being 8:00-18:00, 12:00-22:00, or 21:45-08:15. You'll be part of a diverse team of software, hardware, and network engineers, collaborating across AWS to maintain the highest standards of safety and security.

The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of hands-on experience with technical systems, strong knowledge of Linux/Windows systems, and solid understanding of hardware and networking fundamentals. Experience with ticketing systems, escalation procedures, and data center facilities is preferred.
