Description For SOC Support Engineer III, AWS Security Operations Center (SOC)
The Amazon Web Services (AWS) Security Operations Center (SOC) Support Engineer works across IT Systems and provides technical support; security response for logical services and physical data center systems and signals to support AWS security, customers, and partners. This role requires both knowledge of security principles and experience with practical application of security best practices.
Key responsibilities include:
- Drive security findings, research mitigations, and analyze potential security vulnerabilities
- Manage high security events and communicate risks to AWS stakeholders
- Utilize security mindset to assess and escalate security risks across the organization
- Create innovative solutions to security issues
- Produce reports and briefs on security concerns and operational improvements
- Consult with other Amazon security and service teams on AWS security posture
- Interface with technical teams and stakeholders to translate security mitigation plans into actionable items
- Manage communications, trouble tickets, and provide technical support to customers
- Utilize knowledge of IT systems and troubleshoot Windows/Linux
The ideal candidate will have experience in emergent/military/network operation centers, logical security, or technical customer support. They should possess excellent communication skills, critical thinking abilities, and be able to multitask effectively. The role requires flexibility to work shifts including days, nights, weekends, and holidays.

- Technical degree OR 4+ years professional/technical experience
